Some Of My Favorite Designers

January 13, 2011
Vera Wang
Former Senior Fashion Editor of Vogue Magazine, Vera Wang is one of the best designers of her time. She’s best known for her amazing wedding gowns that have been worn by A-list celebrities like Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Kloe Kardashian, Uma Thurman, Kate Hudson and many more. Definitely someone I look up to.
Marc Jacobs
Jacobs introduced his namesake line in 1986 and quickly became the youngest designer ever to win the CFDA Perry Ellis Award for New Fashion Talent. Two decades and several CFDA awards (for womenswear, menswear, and accessories) later, Marc Jacobs is to America what Miuccia Prada is to Italy: the can’t-miss catwalk, the bellwether label, the mercurial designer who stuns/delights/scares the fashion world twice a year. Jacobs has a knack for sizing up the zeitgeist and then one-upping it. A master of the mash-up, his references are wide-ranging, always in flux, and often unlikely. He’s done multi-layered grunge and tight-as-a-drum ladylike. (nymag.com)

Alice & Olivia
Carolina Herrera
Venezuelan aristocrat Carolina Herrera created her first collection in 1981 at the prompting of Diana Vreeland. She expanded into bridal in 1987 and opened her flagship on Madison Avenue in 2000. Herrera founded a diffusion line, CH Carolina Herrera, in 2002, which includes fragrances, menswear, handbags, and shoes. The label is known for timeless ensembles for ladies who lunch and celebs who crave a touch of class. Tweedy skirt-suits, crisp white blouses, fitted jackets, prim cocktail frocks, and embellished evening gowns keep the glamorous label—and designer—at the top of the heap. (source nymag.com)
